The Japanese are probably the most racist people on the planet.The Japanese are so racist that they pressure Korean and Chinese immigrants to change their names to sound more Japanese.Moreover if you ever watch anime you will notice that racist caricatures such as the nappy haired,coal black,big lipped black person are still common place.It's funny how the Japanese never draw themselves as short with slanted eyes.I guess only sterotypes about other people are true. by Corrupt

Yes, and put up with it. Japanese are racists but I don't see that as being such a bad thing. It's not like they are violantly racists or exploitative or anything...

What? They never pressured to change their names, it just happens, that

a) Chinese names are read differently because Chinese characters only carry a meaning but the reading in Japanese is totatly different. You might as well blame English speaking people to force Germans to change their names because English speakers can't pronounce Umlauts and the "ch" in German. Bullshit.

b) If they want to get a Japanese passport, they have to register their Name and use either Hiragana, Katakana or a set of 80 Kanji allowed for usage in Names. This also applies to Japanese born citizens. So yes also Caucasians, Africans and everyone else who wants to become a Japanese national will have to abide by this rule. It's the same in the western World, since you will most certainly not be able to register any Name with Chinese characters in it anywhere in the US or Europe.

Moreover if you ever watch anime you will notice that racist caricatures such as the nappy haired,coal black,big lipped black person are still common place.
Sorry, but I can still see that anywhere else. In European and American Comics Asians are also in many cases still depicted as skinny, small people, with bright yellow skin and often with glasses and really bad teeth. It a friggin Comic, this is all about Caricaturing things.

Again this is basically the same in In every other culture: your own ethnicitiy sets the rule or the "norm" for that specific culture. There is nothing to caricature because your own ethnic look is considered "normal". Any look that is aberrant is considered different and depending on how aberrant it is considered foreign. That's just how things work with humans in general.
