Salaryman's Offensive Summer Nipples

Postby Mulboyne » Tue Sep 11, 2007 5:54 pm

[floatr]Image[/floatr]Livedoor news has a report (Japanese) on a survey conducted to see whether businessmen tend to wear a vest or T-shirt under their business shirts even in the heat of summer. It seems that around 75% do. One woman commenting on the survey hoped that more men would wear them since she is sick of seeing nipples and chest hair showing through a sweat-stained shirt and others seemed to agree. Even though summers in Japan's major city centres are getting more humid, it appears that the prejudice against men who don't elect to wear an undershirt remains strong. However, one woman said she wasn't particularly fond of seeing even the neckline of an undershirt showing and wondered why businessmen didn't just wear a thicker oxford cotton shirt.

Hear hear. A lot a male underwear is in serious need of some design attention – I think, for the right designs, there’s a seriously huge untapped market here – the perfect undershirt should have a 0cm to 1cm-long sleeve (i.e. sleeves that are at about where the seams on the dress shirt are, but close fitting under the arm, not like a 50’s-era low hanging singlet that does nothing to protect from underarm stains), a high neck (so that it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a massive chain around your neck) and a fitted body (so that it doesn’t bunch up where it’s tucked in your trousers under the belt) – i.e., the whole effect is that you can’t see outlines under the dress shirt but that it still protects the shirt from sweat stains etc.
Why such a thing has never been on the market is a mystery (or maybe it has been on the market but I’ve never seen it).
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

J-women's aversion to displays of nipples is, alas, not confined to those of the male gender. Sweltering heat be damned, they refuse to give up those industrial-strength miracle-of-science padded bras that push their boobs waaay up high.

-catone
-would, just once, like to go out in public clad in one of those 50s-era low-hanging singlets with no overshirt. Cool summer style!

I would kinda hope these women would grow the FUCK UP and not be so trivialized by such moronic nonsense. S.M.D. if you get where I'm comin' from.

Point being, there are no points to be seen...pointy J-chick nipples, that is.

And that's a damn shame.

True. But perky is perky. And as far as the "false advertising" line goes, as far as I am I am concerned, its all 'swings and round-abouts'!

Kariyushi wear all the way. Like aloha shirts. Casual & dressy at the same time. Wear with Dockers for that "formal look" (and maybe even tuck your shirt tails in), and with jeans for the laid back "I'm too cool for skool" look. Cool biz meets da hui.

Oh I don't know, I've got to agree with those "immature women" and say that salary man nipples aren't really something I want to be exposed to.

They are under their fucking shirts for Christ's sakes, and men's nipples are not culturally "taboo" anyway - they can be seen on tv, at swimming pools, and certain sporting events (boxing, K1, Sumo, etc...). Whats the fucking big deal?

Right then, I hope you and those salary man nipples will be very happy together.

Let me be simple - nipples under the shirts of salerymen neither repulse, enthrall, or nauseate me. Three effects they appear to have on you.

I simply don't want to be exposed to them in the workplace. You however, can't seem to get enough.

If you are being exposed to mens' nipples in the workplace, it leads me to wonder what line of work you are in...

But that's probably a whole new thread;)

That salaryman should just ice his nipples to cool down and maintain that hard nipple look...it's a win-win situation.

You're the one defending these morons, all I'm saying is that sure, those women have a point... or is it the male nipple that you're defending?

Are you a closet homosexual finding it difficult to come out?
Not that there is anything in the least wrong with that. There are people that can help.
Oh and just to preempt - I'm straight, not that there is anything wrong with that either.

I'm not "worked up" as much as in spasmotic fits of laughter as to why anyone would be so bent out of shape over male nipples constrained under the 'safety' of a buisness shirt.

Im most likely alone on this, but I find this thread a complete and utter hoot! Who in the fuck would be offended by male nipples under a buisness shirts? Lets hear from someone other than weather-boy.

Sincerely,
'faygele'

I'm not offended by them, but if one of my employees was sweating through his shirt and showing chest hair and nipple in the office I would definitely tell him to start wearing undershirts. It looks unprofessional and could give clients a bad impression. I think the women interviewed were more saying that they find it unattractive than anything. The same way I hate when women wear stockings with open-toed shoes. It's not offensive, it just looks like shit.

True enough SJ. All that you wrote above is solid in my book. But how many sweaty & hairy male nipples have you actually come across? Do you see where i'm coming from regarding this highly important social issue that cuts to the heart of the decine of morality and decency in the community?

Just fuckin' with ya SJ. Peace n Respect!

Hey Gomigirl,
You'll laugh at this, but many moons ago, before I married my wife, I took her to the Melbourne Cup. We were staying at my parents at the time, and she spent near on an eternity getting dolled up for the big event in their ensuite. When she emerged from the bathroom, by mother nearly had a fit. I tell ya, those open-toe shoes and stockings took 10 years off Mum's life.

When I'm at the top "no open-toed shoes with stockings" is going in the offcial dress code. That and keep your fucking straps fastened.
