NEW DELHI: The Delhi airport police have registered a Zero First Information Report following allegations by two young Japanese women that they were kept in confinement for three days and criminally assaulted by at least three men in Agra.

In a restaurant there, they came across two persons, identified as Raees and Sunny, with whom they became friendly as Sunny could speak Japanese well. They had a drinking session, following which the two women were allegedly assaulted by the two. The next day, another man joined the culprits and allegedly assaulted them again and threatened to kill them if they tried to escape.More

I hate to be suspicious of these types of allegations, as rape is a horrible offense, but still it remains sad that so many have to be called into questionin a lot of areas.

The statement ".....The victims have handed over to the police the memory card of a mobile phone by which they had taken the photographs of some of the culprits...." rings all sorts of bells in the column of suspect.

Why were the culprits so stupid, immature, or unconcerned that they would allow cell phone photographs, no matter how covert, or for that matter if the girls were truly confined, allow them to keep their keitais at all.

There maybe proper explanations, but unfortunately, this story does not have a good ring to it.
