I feel it in my heart. In my bones. This movie *if made* is gonna blow chunks royally.

Perhaps like the ongoing franchise it already enjoys? And I think he may have never seen T:TM before either.

The feature film will tell the story of an intergalactic war between two races of robots: the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons.

Journalists need to work a little harder. Factions not races. The Quintessans were a different race. A's and D's were off the same assembly line.

And finally, T:Armada sucks. Too "anime wannabe" style. If they would go back to the style they used just after the movie came out, I think they would pick their older audience back up. Sorry about the rant, but I don't wanna see Trandformers mangled by these idiots and there's nothing I can do stop it. The whole thing went to hell when Assbro bought the rights...

Japan's Animators: On the Cutting Room Floor?

Well, somebody is making money. However, "The Big O" mentioned below is rather "dark" fare...

Cartoon Network had "Big O" about a year ago. It was good, but was in the afternoon block and I think may have been a bit edited to get more action in each episode. I liked it, but missed alot of eps due to work and a possessed VCR. I hope they do it justice during AS, but won't hold my breath. On another note, anyone here seen Kikaider? It's on AS now (just started this week) and I watched it tonight. Did not like it at all. Animation was poor. Good backgrounds and action sequences, but characters are awful. Little shading/shadowing on them and outlandishly cartoon faces that only emphasize the fact that the background looks better. But does it have an interesting story? Cause I'll watch horrible stuff for a good story...

I've seen every episode this week.

At first I thought Kikaider was an OLDER anime because of the drawing styles of the characters. But apparently the artist (don't know his name yet) is using RETRO-anime style for his characters.

Instead of lots of angles and sharp corners, everything is more rounded.

Characters hair is round instead of spiky as in recent years.

The only reason I knew it wasn't older anime was because the effects looked too NEW. Like the rain falling. It was computer generated, obviously. Older anime didn't have rain that realistic.

I think it's an interesting story.

Japan's Animators: On the Cutting Room Floor?

The animators who toil at the industry's drawing boards are seeing a storm brewing on the horizon. Recent years have made this profession a difficult one, and veteran animators are growing increasingly weary. "It's getting tougher and tougher," says Joji Oshima, a veteran animator of the green goo-spewing series The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the ever-changing robots featured in Transformers.

The main guy in this story, Mr. Oshima, worked on the Orson Wells feature. He said something like, "His worst moment in movies was my greatest" or something like that.

I probably should have worked that in somehow.

i really enjoyed Big O seasons 1 & 2 (which, together, tell the complete story). one of the best endings i have ever seen, not to mention the k00lness that is Dorothy. for me, an avid anime fan of many many many years, Big O was a very cool breath of something new

There's another a new trailer for Transformers out.
It looks like the spawn of Steven Spielburg's War of the Worlds and Michael Bay's Armageddon.
Of course, Micheal Bay is directing Transformers did Armageddon, and Steven Spielberg was involved with this version of Transformers.... that's coming out 7-7-07 so that explains the Independence Day storyline.

E! Online says that the new Transformers Sequel is a Go! The movie will again have the Michael Bay and Steven Spielburg director/producer team. People either loved or hated the first movie but if you loved the first one it'll likely be more of the same! However, they say you'll have to wait until June 26, 2009 (which probably means July 4th again)! If you dig deeper, it looks like no one has signed up yet and there's plenty of spats and such behind the scenes. Will it happen? You'll just have to wait to find out! In other news, it looks likeKnight Rider will be returning to the small screen!

Gargoyle had it right all the way back in 2003. This movie did suck.
Besides lack of a decent story I had problems with the character designs. You couldn't focus on any of the transformers faces.

When ever their was a fight scene the camera was so close to the action that all you saw was abstract shapes moving around.

The one fight scene on the highway where the bad robot smashes through the bus was the best one because you could clearly see whats going on.

I hate Michael Bay for his influence on films.

I like this version of Transformers better.
