Taro Aso telling Fuji TV that he occasionally submits comments to 2ch. They seem to have cut the bit where he mentioned that he is a regular reader of FG.

Somebody please tell me that is not his office.

I was wondering the same thing Hundefar and Tsuru.
Maybe those are old wanted posters or something.
Or perhaps he's so far right that he wraps back around to the left.
Any it's blasphemy! It would make me not want to get a Che Guevera poster.

So you would buy a poster of a man who was involved in killing thousands, was Communist and who hated homosexuals if it wasn't for Taro Aso? Man, people need to read more about Che. He was an asshole if there ever was one.

I don't have any problem with communist as I am a hardcore apathist. But the other two...

Fighting imperial aggression seems admirable to me but it's hard to do from my sofa.

I admit, I don't know much about him other than t-shirts or posters with his picture are very popular.

But I think posters of Tojo or Hitler would be more appropriate on Aso's wall.

Che killed many innocent people and helped establish the brutal dictatorship that governs Cuba now. He was really a very hate-filled person and not one to admire, unless you think blowing the brains out on a 8-year old because he stole some bread is a heroic deed. Really, you should read up on him.

I have just begun, starting with....Wikipedia. It may not always be trustworthy but it can give you some reference point.
Not trying to argue about Che because I admit I know next to nothing about him but it was surprising seeing a famous leftist's picture on the wall of a famous rightist.
The Wikipedia entry mentions he was the head of a prison and oversaw(ordered?) a lot of executions.
But do you think Batista's prisons were much better?

Batista were also a bastard. But that doesn't really make Che being a bastard better, does it?

Also, Batista's regime was bad, but he was more of a robbing dictator, using his power for personal gain. The dictatorship there is now is even worse than Batista was. Back then people could at least leave the country, and a lot of people actually immigrated into Cuba at the time, it being one of the richest countries in the region.

There are a lot of myths surrounding Cuba. One of them is that the current regime is better than Batista. It isn't. It is worse and that is saying something because Batista sure as hell wasn't any angel.

For me it is not about being supportive of one or the other. I think they were both pretty bad regimes. But if I should choose one to live under I would have chosen Batista, because at that time at least I would have had more freedom, including the freedom to leave.

:) Well, I will definitely not get a Che Guevera t-shirt now.

There are probably none in size LLL anyway.

Hmm, a political reach-around? ;)

Said crazy mofo was removed 40 years ago today, interestingly (or not):

Good riddance.
