Report: Japan's foreign minister hospitalized with anemia symptoms
TOKYO: Japanese Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura has been hospitalized after showing symptoms of anemia, a news report said Saturday.
Komura became ill while holding a dinner meeting Friday with visiting Slovakian Foreign Minister Jan Kubis, Kyodo News agency quoted an unidentified government official as saying.
"We are hearing he is showing symptoms of anemia, but it does not appear to be serious," Kyodo quoted the official as saying.
Komura underwent surgery last year after he was hospitalized for acute inflammation of the gallbladder, Kyodo said.
Phones rang unanswered at the Foreign Ministry Saturday morning.
If it is not serious, then why is in the hospital and not just taking some iron and B-12? I think bad gallbladders can be related to hemolitic anemia which make dialysis necessary.
