The dancing in the Sokka vid above reminds me of this type of thing for some reason.

I thought Tina Turner was reported to have distanced herself from SGI after the Aum gas attack because of the "cult" association although she may nevertheless have maintained a belief in Buddhism. This video clip of her chanting turns up on YouTube a lot but it looks like it is quite a few years old:

However, just about every Google reference, even if they are old or derived from the same old sources, suggests she is still associated with SGI. She certainly remains friendly with Herbie Hancock who definitely is active in the cult.

Ya, my list may not be accurate to date, but cetainly all these people were into it seriously at one point during the past 10-15 years.

SGI was behind all of Ike and her tours in Japan. That backed down, or SGI backed off, when Ike got bagged in customs with a nickle bag of dope on the way in for a performance. Tina finished that tour, while Ike was a guest of Tokyo's finest and she made a couple more visits after, but the vim and vigor was no longer there. SGI was really just coming out of the closet in those days and was trying to do a turn around on its image as a world entity. They probably felt that they didn't need the bad publicity on top of its previous image from bar recruiting of members and threats against members who wanted to quit.
