Six of one?

How about seven of nine?

Peeing wouldn't be too bad, I imagine you could rig a hose somehow into the outfit that would come out a miniscule zipper somewhere not obvious or something. Taking a shit though, hrm..

Borg don't eat.
And if they do, I'm sure they've been made so efficient that they perspire all the waste away. (Talk about smelling like shi*t)

Anyway Steve, for such a normal seeming guy.
See you when you get back. Don't take any stuff from any pretty nurses.

They're pretty to disarm the charm.

That pretty much says for all us who know Steve down here. I went with him to the hospital yesterday and Chisato stayed overnight.

I want to say thanks to the people who wrote email wishing him well. I'll print them out and give them to him when I go over on Wednesday.

Although it's pretty obvious he needs treatment, he's in good humor and well aware of what's happening. He was playing (and winning) GO with one of the doctors when I left last night so with a bit of luck this won't be a long stay.

Ian.

Thanks the the heads-up Ian!
Without your independent confirmation I was being to think "certifiable Steve" was a clever hoax since he sounded MORE than lucid on the keitai konference kall at the FG party.
TONIKAKU/anyway, I hope his stay at "Club Dead" is short and productive.

The best,

Hello Taro. No it's not in anyway a put on. Steve has problems and I wish to high heaven it were not true.

Steve hired me and my brother several years back and helped me and my family get a lot of personal problems sorted out when frankly we were pretty much screwed and had nowhere to turn. He's been a damn good friend, a great boss and an amazing mentor. What's happening now breaks my heart but there's hope, he's a tough customer and has the support of everyone down here. He'll be back, no doubt.

As a relatively frequent visitor/viewer on this forum, but (shame) less frequent contributor, I find Steve one of the most illuminating/interesting characters on the board. At first I also doubted the authenticity of the person known to me as Steve. I no longer doubt and I wish you well Steve. (I've been to the psyche's here in Japan too - and found their solution is prescriptions) - Hope you get better care, less drugs.

Hey, Steve:

Sorry to hear you are going on another "forced sabbatical". Taro's right that you sounded perfectly fine on the phone, so I'm surprised by this news.

Best of luck and good health to you.

Alternatively, all I can say is to parrot what was best said by the Lord Keynes, history's most successful economist at investing for his own needs:
"In the long term, you are dead."

I was thinking more short to mid-term.. I think persistant optimism is good, but can be annoying for others.

Maybe if we'd worked harder on his wi fi question regarding internet connection while waiting around in hospitals he'd still be in contact.

Well Chisato and I just saw Steve's doc and it seems Steve will be back home by Thursday or Friday.

He's been doing real well these past few days and I must say it's great to see him back to his old self.

I stayed the afternoon with him on Sunday and he invited me to stay for dinner. When I asked him what we were having he brushed his hair straight back and said 'some fava beans and a nice chianti' :D He's a funneeee guy.

So don't say you've haven't been warned folks.

You are number six

Postby Marvin Feltcher » Tue May 13, 2003 5:05 pm

Shit Steve,
Sorry. I didn't even realize you were gone until now. I feel like a real prick.
Glad you'll be back soon. I know this decent housewife down your way...
By the way, watch out for that thing that looks like a friggin' egg and pops up every time you try to leave the front gate. It stretches over the top of you and knocks you out.

"What do you want"
"Information."
"You won't get it from me."
"Oh yes we will. By hook or by crook."

Always knew you were a discerning man.
