[/floatr]Police and Immigration officials carried out another raid on hostess clubs in Kinshicho last night. An army of around 160 police and officials split into groups and hit around 13 establishments from 9:30pm. The hawkers on the streets who spotted them early managed to call ahead and some clubs closed their doors for business. 4 people were arrested for visa violations and another 16 taken into custody. Police say that since they have cracked down on Roppongi and Shinjuku, a lot of operators have moved to Kinshicho which is in Sumida ward, Tokyo. Consequently, the area has seen a big increase in foreign hostesses and foreign hawkers on the streets. While he counts only 5 in Ikebukuro, Shinjuku and Nakano, he has details for as many as 26 in Kinshicho.

Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Whoa boy, lets not get ahead of ourselves. 4 hostesses bagged so far. The other 16 - may not be charged and may not even be hostesses, we don't know yet.

Well, I don't like the 8:1 ratio, but bagging 20 hostesses in one day might be something worth calling home about. Dad would be proud, but he's ask how much it cost. Kinshicho is fun on Sundays. All the dives put tables out in the streets for all kinds of different people to enjoy the horse races and get absolutely smashed.

Kinshicho is a blast. I'm surprised they busted the Russian places first. Thought they would go for the very dodgy Pakistan hawkers on the South side first.
Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups.
