Ever since the beginning of time, man has yearned to exterminate the whales. The whales are our last great enemy, of any significance, left on the planet. Having lost out in the race to dominate the world (they put their money on a marine-based civilization) they are extremely jealous of mankind. Hateful and menacing, they cannot be reasoned with, cannot feel pity and they never forgive. These are facts. Ramming ships, devouring all the fish from the seas, and that so-called ‘whale song’ music, are their only means of extracting their awful revenge.

After the shame of having been beaten in the civilization stakes, most whales are begging for death anyway, but they just don’t have enough natural predators to do the job. Beaching themselves is about the only way they can suicide, but most whales are not hardcore enough for that, and would prefer the cowards way out - a quick harpoon to the cranium. I say, give them what they want.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Didn't someone (maybe Taro) mention that the J-gov subsidizes whale meat? That there actually isn't a demand for the meat, and it mostly ends up frozen in storage or disposed of?

Maybe I heard this in my 'Taro-dream'..:eye: .. But we all know the politicians would never waste money on some unnecessary project like that.. ;)
