There's more on that one here (Japanese). He was dropped from some regular TV spots when he had a fight with his agency over unpaid wages. Someone at that old production company told Shukan Gendai the real reason he was dropped from one of NHK's English programmes was that he was suspected of smoking dope. He's always denied this and has appeared on NHK since. Given that this incident happened ten years ago and police were never involved, it seems like this story shows that his old agency hasn't forgiven him.

The headline itself was at fault. If you're going to make such a statement, you need to justify it somehow in the header. "Foodscare at McDonalds" for instance. Fuck the tabloids.

Since when is anything in the Japanese press legitimate, well-founded or otherwise adherant to any acceptable journalistic standards? I find it pretty much just drivel.
