Inquirer News Service / 5:04 AM (Manila Time) /2003Tuesday May 13, 2003, Philippines
JAPAN-BOUND entertainers, known locally as "Japayuki," who obtained their artist record books (ARBs) during the term of resigned Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief Dante Liban may have to delay their departures a bit.
The TESDA has asked the Japanese embassy to suspend issuance of working visas to holders of 2,100 ARBs that the TESDA inventory team considers questionable. :?:  Image

U.S. rejects Visas of Chinese students accepted at Standford, several guys from Egypt, Iran, Jordan which were just about to finish their 5-year PhD at Harvard and MIT (for "political" reasons), and the list goes on and on and on..., funny thing is that they cannot discriminate Palestinians, because, geopolitically speaking, Israel is in "Palestina".

I think Japanese Immigration is much more leniant on most matters than U.S....although tougher than Europeans....that's why they have a surplus of foreign prostitutes and a deficit of skilled foreign workforce.
