Boutique Clerks Serve as "Walking Billboards"

Row brews over modeled clothes
Daily Gomiuri
Several apparel makers recently were found to have sold clothes as brand new even though they had been worn by boutique clerks during promotions. Many stores have defended this practice by saying it differs little from when customers try clothing on while shopping. But will customers really buy this explanation? When Pinky Girls, a fashion house brand highly popular among young women, was accused of doing this, an executive of its parent company Sanei-International Co. admitted it had happened. Shinichi Matsuda, the managing director of the Shibuya Ward, Tokyo-based apparel maker, said the practice had been common at all of its boutiques ever since the Pinky Girls brand was launched seven years ago. "If clothes are still thought brand new even after a few customers try them on, then clothes worn by clerks also would be considered new," he said...more...

Rather than keep this a secret, it sounds as if a lucrative variation within the burasera market could be opened.

Washing the new Pinky Girls clothes in 12 M sulfuric acid should get most of the caked on make-up off of the garmets, however....be careful, you could turn into any of the weekly incarnations of a Shibuya gyaru. They believe that it is caused by a prion (similar to to what causes Mad Cow Disease), therefore even cooking the garmets (alternatively the Shibuya gyaru) at high temperatures won't kill the prion.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Most people would see a difference between an outfit that someone has tried on in a changing room and one that a salesgirl has worn while working a full day. However, a bigger issue is that there are certain customers the world over who buy clothes, wear them on a night out and then take them back for a refund. These items are laundered or, more often than not, pressed, and then put back on the shelves so it is often a moot point whether the salesgirl got there first.

I have experienced the same thing with women I thought were completely new, only to find out later that they had been "worn" before. Can I get a refund?

I guess the soiled panty market isn't what it used to be.. There was a time when these 'soiled' clothes would fetch more than the new ones.. Glory days..
