I find those numbers a little difficult to believe. I also wish that they stated more clearly why they were afraid of the internet. Do they fear fraud, or what? I know that young people are addicted to it, if you call their k-teis internet.

Polling in Japan, especially that done by the cabinet office is not to find out what they don't know, it is done to demonstrate to the general public that the policy that they are pursuing has general support. In this case, they want stronger control of the internet suppostedly to fight terrorism or stamp out pornography, when in fact they are more interested in muzzling the internet the same way they control Japanese press.

I'm scared of the Internet, too. There are all these gaijin on there talking about sex with farm animals, drooling over pictures of Japanese women, and who think that Noriko (gotta bring her up again) is a whore. I heard that they also use the Internet to post photographs of the bicycles that they have recently stolen and defiled. Anyone got a link to that site?
