Gotta practice the crying-gomen nasai bit for the next time I get caught doing someone that I'm not supposed to be doing. Probably only works if you are Japanese, though. I also realized that having a powerful vacuum cleaner gets rid of those strange strands of hair that "aren't mine", so sayeth the girlfriend....."yeah, they aren't...how do you suppose they got here? so sayeth the about to lose a testicle boyfriend.

My guess is that someone in management explained to Kumi that the majority of purchasing power that goes her way is not from teenage hookers, but from their mothers who are a little sensitive to pus.

All I can say is she's a long way off the share that Britney is getting (either here or abroad) -- so her mamagment [sic] needs to step up the pace or hire Lufti ASAP to get the dice rolling. J-Pop is sooo tired, waning and basically dead. With the greying Japan - even more so. It's just a smattering of f*d investors and managers eeking out the last shabu they canout of shit stained parties in the hood. There's only so much SMAP you can take - and when you finally get old, what do you have?

J-POP is THE legacy of Japan generation XXY -- they are ASHAMED AND THEY KNOW IT!
See you in PyonPyang!

As ridiculous as her original comment was, my heart kind of melts when I see a cutie like that crying. I think SJ is right, people are wasting their time paying attention to what a JPop singer says. Celebrities are too overexposed and we just feed into it when we focus the camera on them. Their opinions wouldn't get nearly so much airplay if we ignored them.

That says it Bird, but generally, the term "kusate iru" form that she used of course, was what the media vultures jumped on and everyone immediately goes "Yeah, wasn't that terrible" and it went down hill from there.

But, maybe it's just me, but I frequently hear "kusateru" used in myriad ways from everything from food, to bad plans and all kind of things about old people. Nobody seems to give it a second thought, but said Hook throws it out and it becomes a National Work Stoppage item. All I can figure, is that it was taken as a throw off on the former Minister's comments about baby machines, or such. It certainly wasn't in the actually usage of the term.

But, having said all that, I'd still do her, rotten crotch or not!

The Japan Times leaps (belatedly) to defend Kumi Koda. Turns out all the outrage and disgust at Koda's comments were just bluster and misunderstanding.

If Koda were a professional comedian, rather than a professional singer who tries to be funny and down-to-earth in personal appearances and interviews, her joke might have been received as high-concept improvisation. Male comedians make insulting jokes about older women's bodies all the time, and nobody complains.

The offended parties took the remark at face value, and said that Koda was being disrespectful to older women who wanted to have babies. The media, in turn, took this reaction at face value. Some news shows even interviewed gynecologists, who clarified that amniotic fluid does not become spoiled after a certain age because amniotic fluid is not something a woman carries around. It's only present when a woman is pregnant. When Futatsuki said Koda's comment was "unimaginable," he didn't mean it in the sense of "horrendous," but in the literal sense: How could anyone ever come up with such an idea?

The article goes on to say that the only people upset by Kumi Koda's comments were dumb, old lady's that don't like her in the first place.

Kumi Koda looks so fucking average I really can't understand what you guys get all worked up about. If she's what does it for you, you should move to the west coast of the US because just about every Korean-American girl under 35 looks like her.

I second the motion to declare her "not as hot as the media has made her to be".........

Yeah, most of those guys would make pretty good girlfriends. It must be hard to be gay in Japan with so few tops running around.

Kumi Koda is cute and acts like a slut onstage. That's what her attraction is.

Personally, in that list, give me Amuro. I like her voice and style and I like her music.

Koda, Goto, Amuro perform at Avex annual concert for stockholders
Japan Today
Avex group on Sunday held its annual concert for stockholders at Saitama Super Arena. The event was part of the general shareholders’ meeting and 8,910 stockholders attended. Eleven Avex artists performed.

Kumi Koda, 25, made a return to performing in public after she was suspended for remarking on a radio program on Jan 30 that “women over 35 had ‘rotten’ fluid in their wombs.” Koda started to cry after apologizing to the stockholders.

Exile, Namie Amuro, Noriyuki Makihara, Ai Otsuka and Maki Goto, who recently joined Avex, also performed, but Ayumi Hamasaki was absent due to her nationwide tour.

Avex said it had recorded 104.6 billion yen sales in 2007, which is the highest in its 20-year history.
