Upgrade for Pongi Helmet!

OCTOBER 28, 2003 / AustralianIT.News.com - - - WEARABLE devices have moved on from being fashion accessories into the rough, tough world of security and search and rescue. The CommanderGauntlet, for example, is a glove with its own power supply, a touchscreen monitor, two-way voice and data communications, a video camera and powerful lighting for the camera or for search and rescue work. Waterproof, weighing 162g....NetworkAnatomy's glove takes the concept of wearable computing a bit further than most---almost to skin level....have RF radios, satellite phone, GSM phone, WiFi, GPS, mapping and a tablet PC.
They come in a 4.1kg waterproof case and are paired with helmets incorporating a video camera and emergency lighting.
They also act as WiFi hotspots, extending the 100m peer-to-peer communications range. If you think the 3.3kg bulletproof one is overdoing it a tad, try the 2.4kg waterproof soft-case model.

I wonder what resolution the CCD on the glove's camera is. Also, they'd better make that touchscreen pretty damned ruggedized if they're pitching it for use in search and rescue work.

Or they could go less rugged with the design and sell them in Japan. A new era of upskirts is upon us! (Though the light being strong enough to light up a 4-car garage wouldn't be considered very flattering to many women, I'd imagine. )

Hey now Buck! I can see some definite merit in this model!

I might be wrong, but I think this actually IS Pongi in this picture -- without his glasses.
