Australia - Japan & China

Postby ColinizeR » Fri Feb 29, 2008 11:23 pm

Does anyone have any opinions on what will happen regarding Australia and Japan's relationship, now that China has taken over Japan as Australia's number one trading partner...also our Prime Minister is a Mandarin speaking ex-Chinese diplomat....do you think there will be a gradual shift in policy or not...the whaling thing, the Japan-Australia security pact and a more aprehensive approach to the US-Australia relationship considered... I'm just curious as to what people think... It would seem to me that Australia is strategically important to both countries...

Kumi koda is hot. If you think otherwise you must be as gay as Take.
Again, stick to the main topic of this thread. Australia startegic for what?

I expect Australia to remain generally south of Japan and China.

Like a jilted lover, Japan will stalk Australia, trying to win back its attention, and at the same time spread awful rumours about China, to anyone who will listen.

Eventually, Japan will find a new partner, and the bitterness will disappear completely, during the "honeymoon" period, only to return briefly as the banality of the new long-term relationship emerges.

Aussie land is no more than beef and steel for Japan.
Japan NEVER care about if Aussie land vanish tommorow. It is the same as Kimchi peninsula for Japan.
