Ministry Puts The Brakes On Sex Education

The Ministry of Education has made some changes to sex education guidelines with the intention of reducing some of the more graphic images which appear in books aimed at children. The Ministry thinks that educators may have misunderstood their earlier intentions to improve children's sexual knowledge. A project team found that some kindergarten age children were being taught the names of male and female genitalia from pictures in textbooks (Sapporo) elementary school children were shown images of dogs having sex (Otsu) and middle school children were taught how to apply a condom to a test tube. Trivia point: the names of the dolls shown below, commonly used in sex education classes, are "Suzy" and "Fred".

A better question, why the hell are kindergarden kids learning about sex by watching dogs fuck?! I'd think monkeys might be more appropriate.

I believe those dolls are also often used by child psychologists to help children re-enact and describe past incidents of sexual molestation and abuse.




Very appropriate for Japan.

Japan Times: Teachers of 'extreme' sex ed win metro redress
The Tokyo District Court ordered the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and three members of its assembly Thursday to give 12 teachers at a school for students with special needs about \2.1 million in compensation for intervening in a sex education class in 2003. According to the court, the teachers at the city-run special education school in the western suburb of Hino had developed unique teaching methods for mentally disabled students, including using dolls, so they could comprehend the lesson. But the legislators and board of education were critical after observing the class, saying it was "too extreme." The metro assemblymen involved were Hiroshi Tashiro, Takayuki Tsuchiya and Toshiaki Koga. Presiding Judge Wataru Yao ruled that the reprimands imposed on the teachers for their "extreme" sex education "notably lacks in appropriateness," and ordered the defendants to pay \200,000 each to 10 of the 12 teachers. The court also ruled that the assembly members "damaged the reputations of the teachers" by criticizing the contents of the class during the inspection and ordered them to pay \50,000 each to the other two teachers. A total of 31 plaintiffs, male and female, had sought about \30 million in damages in the trial. They also sued the daily Sankei Shimbun for reporting on the sex education class, but that case was dismissed.

Why are they teaching mentally challenged kids about sex. Can someone point out the usefulness, they should not be reproducing anyways.
I am not really sure where I am going, I just hope that when I get there, I can sit down because I am sure my feet will be tired.

Back in my uni days I had to do volunteer work for my school. I got sent to a "non profit, no drug" school which housed everything, and I mean EVERYTHING(ranging from just bad kids to totally handicapped autistic and retarded to hannibal types). Trust me when I say this, the mentally retarded are the most sexual humans (some very perverted) alive. I wont get into too much of the gross details but one less offensive is the fact that all female employees were ordered to not wear open toed shoes due to foot fetishes.
