Foreign Skaters Get Lively In Nagano

Postby Mulboyne » Wed Mar 12, 2008 11:31 pm

The International Skating Union held a World Single Distances Speed Skating Championship in Nagano with the final day on Sunday. Kyodo reports (Japanese) that the event finished with a party, after which some foreign skaters went on to a local bar. According to the Japan Skating Federation, things got lively and someone set off a fire extinguisher in the building. The owner of a nearby restaurant also says he saw a white guy breaking a wine bottle. Police were called but the group fled before they arrived. The Federation did not reveal any names but said that a group of skaters later visited the bar to apologize and that no Japanese skaters were involved in the incident.

what? no DJ vigilante justice?
im just relieved that no japanese skaters were involved, i mean im sure even the super respectful and law-abiding japanese can get negatively influenced from hanging around with white guys breaking bottles.

who knew that ice skaters partied like that anyway?
