does anyone know about a shop somewhere in tokyo where fruits and vegetables are affordable?

i don't even talk about the exotic stuff like mangoes, but just local stuff.
perhaps the cheapest choice i found would be at seiyu supermarkets, and at my local fruits and veggies shop when they have specials on unsold items that are going to be bad the next day or so.

i just want to feel like a salad is a cheap meal, not a treat.
any help appreciated...

Have you tried the Seiyu Y100 Tuesday specials. Selected items (including meat, and fresh produce) are just 100 yen.

I shop around for what is in season and definitely from the local fruit and veggie shop. Get to know one and you may get a "pet" discount. A smile from a FG can go a long way!!
