I like this system.. what better way to maintain toliet cleanliness.

Look, there's no stains on the seat, it's at least a 2 or 3 star.

Rating system again? (They have that on all the food stalls) The toilet in Singapore zoo was rated the best and most beautiful in the Island (lots of green and open concept

) Anyway I find that Singapore's public toilets is definately cleaner than Japan's public toilets, and always equipped with toilet papers too. A squatter can be as clean as the sitting ones but not user friendly to the elderly and disabled, so I guess it won't qualified for 5 stars :wink:

LOL - I remember having to use one in a French train station where a hideous old woman held the seats hostage until a small ransome was paid. So, having a seat and being free should be at least 3 stars, eh?

Squatters shouldn't count. There's no physical contact. Plus, it's like taking a shit on the floor.

Those things should be done away with. No matter how "high-tech" Japan gets, though, I'm sure squatters will always be here. I was forced to use one once during a horrible futsukayoi (hangover), but I had to get completely ass-naked in the stall out of fear I was gonna shit down the back of my pants. Imagine teaching english to a classroom of 40 sixth graders with shit all over your clothes. That was enough justification for me, but I avoid those things like a plague. I just hold out as long as I can or until I find the nearest Family Mart / Lawson.

Oh, and I think the star system is a pretty cool idea. I'd vote for it.

I am a girl - wear high heels to work nearly everyday and always wear tights!! But none of those clicky clacky things that alot of girls wear as they are really annoying..

There is nothing worse than open toed shoes with tights!! A big fashion DON'T.. this however is very popular here. I want to shake half the girls I see on the train to point out that it is such a BAD look. And fishnets should NEVER EVER be worn with open toed shoes!! /rant

Well you agree that it is a BAD look... now that summer is nearly upon us, I am sure to see many victims and have to stop myself from showing them the error of their ways..

I think that a mirror beside front doors showing people how shoes do effect the entire ensemble would work wonders...
