Potato Juice?

Postby Catoneinutica » Wed May 07, 2008 9:04 am

Okay, I'll admit it: I almost can't pass a combini without going in for some miracle-of-modern-food-chemistry fuel to keep me walking. My tipples of choice are drink yogurt (Ohayo brand, none of the scandal-tainted Megmilk bilge) and vegetable juice. Bored out of my wits one day, I actually scanned the back the juice box, wherein could be found a grid display of all the bounties of nature that gave up their juices to contribute to my drinking pleasure.

There were some weird bounties there. Onions? Hmm... Potatoes? WTF? What possible nutritional value could potato juice have? Maybe they just use it as a cheap filler, like apple juice in fruit juice.

Potato juice can actually help heal gastric ulcers, but probably only if it's fresh...not that processed shit that goes into juice boxes (pasteurized)...when fresh its live enzymes can heal ulcers throughout the GI tract. This was first found in WWI when soldiers ran out of potatoes to eat they were given potato juice as sustenance and subsequently were healed of their ulcers by accident.

Furthermore potatoes are one of the most potassium rich foods in the world, up there with bananas...and potassium is one of the most important electrolytes in the human body.

Better, you can also ferment spuds into some real Kickapoo Joy Juice, that's got a nice bite to it and it will roll your socks up and down like window shades! e.g. vodka, imoshochu, etc. That stuff will cure most diseases known to man, plus rid you of fleas and ticks....

There is that option. Hehe. I imagine your "juice" is a lot more palatable too, although in excess it may cause ulcers instead of cure them.
