I know that Herbert Bix is 70 years old and all - but I am still surprised that angry Jap right-wingers haven't tried to kill or cripple him for 'defiling' the memory of their precious faggoty Hirohito.

I remember reading in the book that Hirohito was still getting debriefed on political matters by at least one PM after WWII.
His [Brendan Behan's] last words were to several nuns standing over his bed, "God bless you, may your sons all be bishops."
