Hi

I have been following this forum for a long time, and recently I decided to register.

I am Spanish, and I started knowing Japan through manga, movies etc when it was not a fashion. Actually I can speak a little (I may pass yon-kyu) and I have some japanese friends.

I've just been once there and I enjoyed my gaijin-status xD for the good and the bad.

Hey everybody,

I came across this site a few weeks ago while i was searching for a definition for Gaijin. Of course with a title like F*ckedGaijin I couldn't just pass it by. I have been equally entertained and informed by many of the posts that I've read. I have not had the pleasure of traveling to japan yet but definetly hope to someday. When I eventually do I think that what I've learned from this site will be a great help.

I cant help but wondering what he looks like. I imagine skinny with a daft bon jovi style haircut. Anyone know the truth?

I've also been reading/lurking for a few years and I finally decided to register. The forum has always been a wealth of information and entertainment.
Been to Japan 3 times, was in Fukuoka this past december/january visiting friends and my girlfriend.

I'm actually in a bit of a quandary, and I made a post about it, but i'm not sure if i don't have privileges or if my post was neutered or not.

Anyway, glad to be here.

I've been lurking for a while, but I guess this was inevitable.

My story begins and ends with a classical dilemma. I can go back to Japan, or I can stay where I am; However, either option carries risks and benefits.

Then again, vending machines around here don't cough up beer even on a Friday night, so I guess that's not such a hard choice after all.

A high dosage rate, frequently administered is the only way to go....
(also more than one highly qualified specialist is usually required. However, because of professional jealousy, it is better to keep the specialists from learning that you are seeking other opinions on treatment)

Thought I would finally register, instead of just trawling around like a pervert.

I got a job with Interac, teaching English (what a surprise) in Japan (again, surprise) in August, and I'm trying to do as much research, learn as much Japanese and find as many things to do in Japan as possible. A google search led me here, and Its just what I've been looking for!

Don't know where in Japan I'll be yet, but hopw to stay for a year at least.

Cripes, pity I didn't find this site before I applied for, and accepted the job!

To be fair, they did warn about the salary cuts over holidays, although we were assured if we lived as much like the Japanese as possible, it was theoretically possible to save money on a salary of ~250k a month. Is there any truth to that?

Big Booger seems to have some anger issues regarding Interac, but there were a couple of people on the thread who didn't have quite as many negative things to say!

I mean, it can't be THAT bad? We were told by the recruiter that the pay was stable and it was ~250k after ALL tax, and that we're allowed to teach privately as long as it doesn't conflict with school hours.

Anyone have anything nice to say?

depending on where you are, the amount of money you will be able to save will vary. overall though, 250k/m is fine.. not the best salary, but it should be possible to live cheaply and save quite a bit. (i made less than that in tokyo for a while and was still able to save quite a bit).

i have never dealt with interac, so i cant tell you anything there, except with my experiences with english institutes in general.. yes, it can be that bad.
dont be afraid to ditch out on them after you get your visa.
