Help finding book

Postby Crambo » Sun May 25, 2008 9:38 pm

Hey, gang. I'm looking for a book called Take Ivy by T Hayashida. It's an old one but has apparently been reprinted a few times. The most recent site I can find is this one, but my Japanese is very bad.

http://www.mensclub.jp/mensclub/mag/takeivy/#

Can anyone point me in the direction of getting a copy, even second-hand? I've tried Abe Books and Alibris, but I've had no luck. Would there be any Japanese sites that might be worth trying?

Thanks.

Amazon Japan lists two, Take Ivy (Winter) and another, but doesn't give any thing further except they are furui and UNAVAILABLE.

If I stop by my book store tomorrow or the next day, I will have them do a search.

Seems to be out of print. According the website it was only a limited run and all copies were sold.

Not sure about the content but by the same photographer (or someone with an identical name) with a similar title on Amazon, but only used with cheapest being 8000 yen:

As ttjereth says, the Men's Club version in your link was a limited edition reprint of the 1965 original which itself is out of print (it seems to have been reprinted in 1973 and 1980). They didn't have access to the original plates for the recent reprint so the older copies appear to be more highly valued. The winning bid for a 1973 version on Yahoo Auctions a few days ago was 21,001 yen. A 1980 version sold a few weeks agofor 31,750 yen.
