"Louis Vuitton" boots and sandals seized by police from a shoe shop owner in Hyogo prefecture. He had made them himself to sell in his shop.

That is atrocious. The forger deserves to be arrested not for forgery, but for making something so ugly. Anyone who wears such an offense against fashion deserves to be arrested too.

For comparison, here is an authentic Vuitton shoe. Note the understated, subtle LV pattern and tiny logo on the heel.

This reminds me of the father in "Kamikaze Girls". He's from Hyogo prefecture like the bloke in this story and he gets involved selling fake Versace. Go to the scene 2:08 into this clip and watch it for a couple of minutes:
