What happened to young dudes?

Postby Sarganto » Sat May 31, 2008 11:53 am

I've been roaming around here for some time, but until now, I thought, that I do fit better in the young dudes forums.
But since one or two months, their forums simply disappeared. Parts of their old homepage and their wiki still work, but there is no information, what happened to their forums and I really loved the stories and the people there.

Maybe anybody here know's what happened, because FG and YD share the same style. They are only two different communities, that's all.

So if you have some information, let me know.

What happened to young dudes?

They became old dudes. Actually, most of them weren't that young to begin with.

...And after becoming old dudes they went through a metamorphosis in which they transcended the physical world and become Star Children Dudes, beings of pure energy. These days they're off floating in n-dimensional space, perfecting their "game" and measuring one another's inseams.

At about 4:40 you get a bit of Jonny Stew's take on Petraeus, Congressional hearings and the "Dawn of Man" scence in 2001.

'young dudes' has to be the stupidest name for a forum i've ever heard. how something with a name like that and FG could be similiar is beyond me.

but you're right, sounds like you fit in better there.

How 'young' do you have to be to be a 'young dude'?
And how 'dude-ish'?

Well most of the guys that were on that board were not that young so you would have been a spring chicken compared to the rest of them Jijii.

Most of them were only dudes in their own minds only as well.

I was just stalking the FG-Forums and remembered this thread and thought "oh well, maybe now someone knows"

@Cyka UchuuJin
Its proper name was "Young Dudes Way to Japan" or something like that.

@kusai Jijii
It was a relatively old forum so...most of the "Young Dudes" weren't that young anymore. But they had a lot of stories to tell :D

I know what happened to young dudes, but if you're too stupid to use Google, then you can just remain unenlightened.

Oh come on AO - that is a bit harsh coming from you. I seem to remember you asking lots of questions in the past about stuff that was easily found on google.

Or that no one really cares what happened to it, which I suspect is closer to the truth.

Oh Gomi, it was justifiably harsh. We're talking troll here. I used the EXACT terms he used and found it immediately at the top of the list.

I ask questions because I know I'll get a prefiltered, detailed, informed wealth of knowledge instead of spending time to track down bits and pieces of info.

I know it was a bit of the pot and kettle here, but I'm certain we've got mountain troll here.
