Odakyu line guesthouse???

Postby akatsuka » Sat Jun 07, 2008 5:12 am

I'm going to be working in Yoyogi Hachiman on the Odakyu line and I was advised that living on the same line would be more cost effective for me...however, ive checked all the big gaijin house companies and they dont seem to have much available on the Odakyu line.

I'm undecided whether I'd prefer to live far away and commute in our live near - I dont mind whichever is cheaper (probably the former). I am a student, but prefer to have my own room or share a room with another person rather than live in a dormintory.
Anyone know of any rooms like this available on the Odakyu line? I'm moving in in July.

If not, is it possible for a young fit person who loves walking to walk, in the tokyo summer heat, from Shibuya station to Yoyogi hachiman? There is no direct train that does that journey.

I'm a little unfamiliar with Shibuya/Harajuku/Yoyogi etc so any help or advise will be appreciated loads!

thanks

I've walked that route quite often and it is pleasant enough. I haven't done it as part of a commute, though, when I might be more tired and frazzled. JR Harajuku station is about the same distance away...possible even closer. A few yards away from Yoyogi Hachiman station is the Yoyogi Koen Chiyoda line subway stop so you could also consider accomodation along that route although it probably runs through more expensive areas than the Odakyu line.

Sakura House has a few in the area. You might want to try the online search tool.
