[/floatl]The final part of Rumiko Takahashi's popular manga series "InuYasha" will appear in the June 18th edition of the magazine Shonen Sunday. The date had long been rumoured but was confirmed at the end of the penultimate part which has just been published this week. Takahashi is well known for several other popular manga such as "Ranma 1/2", "Maison Ikkoku" and "Urusei Yatsura" but InuYasha has had the longest run of all, having made its first appearance in 1996. A good part of Shonen Sunday's sales are attributable to InuYasha so the industry will be watching to see whether the magazine can weather the loss of such an important title. Meanwhile, Takahashi intends to start work on a new work without taking a break. She is a wealthy woman and, when the tax agency still published lists of the nation's top taxpayers, she regularly ranked as the highest manga artist. She is also well known in the West as translations of all her major works have appeared in print and on screen across Europe and America. Her characters are frequently inspirations for overseas cosplayers.
