Perfect Homestay

Free for people offering homestays and $60 for people wanting to contact up to three homestay listings. Still only a few listings at the moment.

Have no idea about the rest of it but thought it was an interesting idea. Only in English and Russian but I think they are planning to add Japanese.

They also have a language school listing service. Perfect School This may be of interest to some of the language school owners on this board.

I am in no way financially associated with this company. My friend is the web designer though which is how I heard about it. Thought it might be useful.

As a coincidence, I have to write a letter today on behalf of a freind's daughter who is doing a homestay in Canada right now. Seems the family is treating her like a personal maid, and not feeding her enough. She says she's constantly hungry, all there is in the fridge is a block of cheese. The family is even getting another homestay kid from Japan next month so there'll be two in the house (I thought that was not allowed - they must get subsidized for the kids they have and are treating this as a money-making venture, I think). Poor kid is only 16 and speaks no English and has no friends around in her rural town. I'm going to write to the coordinator of the program in Canada and get her moved pronto.

I know of a woman who did this EXACT same thing with Chinese homestay students. Only she had three personal slaves, rather than just one.

Fucking disgusting. I ended up having a stern 'talk' to her accompanied by multiple other home-stay 'parents'. The students found better accomodation, she was fired from the school-board and has subsequently moved from my city. What a fucking cunt. I hope she gets uterine cancer.

Aquamarine - it's in New Brunswick. I spoke to members of the organisation and the woman in question had even applied for another homestay student (slave). That means she would have had three, two more than she's allowed to have under the rules.

Anyway I got my friend's daughter moved. She's OK now.
