Boy stabs teenage girlfriend, turns knife on himself
Mainichi
NARASHINO, Chiba -- A teenage boy stabbed his girlfriend before turning the knife on himself at a condominium complex here, police said.

Investigators are probing the case on suspicion of attempted murder.

The mother of a 17-year-old female student of a prefectural high school contacted firefighters from a condominium in Narashino where they live, at around 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday, reporting that her daughter had been stabbed. "My daughter was stabbed in the back. A boy is lying in the corridor," she was quoted as saying.

Officers rushed to the scene and found the high school girl lightly injured while bleeding from the chest and back on the corridor of the sixth floor of the 11-story complex. A 17-year-old boy was found nearby bleeding from the chest with serious wounds.

A knife was found in the inner courtyard of the condominium, investigators said.

The girl and the boy are classmates who live in the same condominium complex and were apparently going out with each other. The stabbing incident allegedly occurred after the pair came back to the condominium together.

"We had a quarrel and I was stabbed. Soon afterwards, he stabbed himself in the chest," the girl was quoted as telling police.

The boy told paramedics as he was being taken to hospital, "I stabbed her. I want to apologize to her."

Investigators will question the boy after he recovers from his wounds.

High school boy arrested for attempting to fatally stab grandma
Mainichi
KUMAMOTO -- A 15-year-old high school boy has been arrested for attempting to fatally stab his grandmother at their home here after being told off for sitting up late at night, police said.

The first-year student at a private high school, whose name is being withheld under the Juvenile Law, admitted to the allegations during questioning.

"I was feeling stressed out after my grandmother and mother frequently told me off," he was quoted as telling investigators.

The boy stabbed his 72-year-old grandmother with a kitchen knife at around 2 a.m. on Monday, leaving her with serious injuries that are expected to take three weeks to heal, local police allege.

The boy went downstairs to get a drink of water when his grandmother admonished him for sitting up late at night. After becoming furious, he grabbed the kitchen knife and stabbed her, according to investigators.

Yomiuri: 67 knife frenzies in 10 yrs; Akihabara worst postwar street stabbing
Sunday's street stabbings in Akihabara, Tokyo, in which seven people were killed, is the worst case of its kind since the war in terms of the number of deaths. According to the National Police Agency, there were eight cases of random street assault last year, twice as many as in 2006. This year, there have been at least five cases, the NPA said. On March 23, a 24-year-old man wanted by the police killed one person and injured seven others after running amok with a knife in and around Arakawaoki Station on the JR Joban Line in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture. After being arrested, the man reportedly told police: "I wanted to kill seven or eight people. I didn't care who they were." In May, a 40-year-old man assaulted two boys and a woman in Osaka and Kyoto before later being arrested in Saitama Prefecture.

On Jan. 5, a 16-year-old male second-year student at a private high school slashed at passersby in the Togoshi Ginza commercial street in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, and was held for attempted murder. The youth reportedly told police: "I wanted to massacre people. I didn't care who they were." According to the NPA, there were 67 multiple stabbing rampages between 1998 and 2007. Among these was a Sept. 8, 1999, incident in Tokyo in which a 23-year-old man claimed two lives after stabbing eight people, including shoppers, on a street in Ikebukuro. Later the same month, a 35-year-old man killed five people and injured another 10 after driving a car into JR Shimonoseki Station in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The man reportedly told police, "No matter what I did, it never turned out well, which made me bitter toward society." On June 17, 1981, a 29-year-old man stabbed to death four people, including young children, in Fukagawa, Koto Ward, Tokyo, in an incident known as the "Fukagawa torima jiken"

Elderly Korean BBQ restaurant operator found stabbed to death
Mainichi
KAWAGUCHI, Saitama -- An elderly Korean woman who runs a barbecue restaurant was found stabbed to death here, police said.

Kim Yun-hui, 69, a Korean operator of a barbecue restaurant in Kawaguchi, was found dead by police officers at around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

There were several stab wounds to her upper body, and Kawaguchi Police Station set up a task force to investigate the case on suspicion of murder.

According to police, a 45-year-old female Chinese employee of the restaurant contacted Kim's 44-year-old son in Tokyo on Monday, saying, "Kim is missing." The Chinese woman lives on the third floor of the home-cum-restaurant in Kawaguchi.

Kim's son filed a missing person's report, and investigators searched for her.

Kim's body was found stuffed under a bed in her room on the second floor of the home-cum-restaurant building, police said.

Saitama Prefectural Police said Kim had been operating the restaurant with her husband since May 1989, but her husband died in 2005. Kim had recently renovated the restaurant.

"She was a sociable person and was always smiling. I can't believe she would be involved in such a thing," said a 56-year-old unemployed woman who lives in the neighborhood.

Schoolgirl stabbed in back by fellow student in Wakayama
Mainichi
YUASA, Wakayama -- A 13-year-old girl suffered serious injuries when she was stabbed in the back several times by another girl from the same school, law enforcers said.

Police said an emergency call was made at about 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday, saying there was someone injured on a road in Yuasa. The victim, a 13-year-old, second-year junior high school girl, had been stabbed several times in the back by another 13-year-old girl from the same school.

Investigators said that the 13-year-old girl who stabbed the victim was found in the area by a police officer. She was taken into custody, and accused of attempted murder.

The victim's wounds appeared to have been made with a small knife, investigators said, adding that she had five stab wounds in her back and one in her abdomen.

Investigators believe some sort of trouble had erupted between the two girls prior to the attack. They are continuing to investigate the motives for the stabbing.

Was it a black strapless dress? If so, that is terrible. Such a dress should never be worn with a baseball cap on a rainy day...that is such a terrible fashion disaster screaming out for a make-over. Admit it, Greji, you, too, have had those bad hair days, but owing to your complexion, you are smart enough to go with earth tones which highlight your legs.

True, and if the lunatic has multiple personalities, it could be "they". So much to take into account these days before levelling accusations. Hell, it could be a bighorn elk which recently acquired the ability to stand on its hindlegs and buy a ratty pearl necklace....note: I didn't say or refer to "pearl necklace" in any crass way.

Gotta be a first for me.

Postby Visitor K » Wed Jun 25, 2008 7:45 am

this article is a week old, but i dont think ive seen it posted up here yet..
.. but really, aside from political arguments about the right to bear weapons, would this ban even be practical?
he seemed to do more harm with his automobile.. cars should be banned too, no?

Yomiuri: Homeless man found dead in Fuchu park
An elderly homeless man was found dead in a park in Fuchu, Tokyo, on Friday morning and apparently had been stabbed in the side and beaten about the head, police said. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a passerby found the man lying on the ground in a park below the Chuo Expressway at 6:35 a.m. The man's head injuries suggest he had been murdered, the police said. The man, who appeared to be in his 70s or 80s, was lying near a bench and had been stabbed several times, a senior MPD official said. The MPD was trying to identify the man. Two other homeless men were assaulted and seriously injured in the same area in March. The police were investigating whether there is any connection between these assaults and the latest attack.

Murdered ramen shop owner was stabbed, slashed more than 30 times
Mainichi
A murdered western Tokyo ramen noodle shop owner was stabbed and slashed more than 30 times, investigators said.

Local police suspect that someone who harbored a grudge against the victim, 45-year-old Toshiyuki Higashiyama, murdered him, noting that 600,000 yen in the restaurant's takings were not stolen and that the store was not ransacked.

Higashiyama, owner of the Ichifujiya ramen shop in Higashikurume, suffered numerous stab wounds and cuts to his face, chest and one of his arms, indicating that he tried to defend himself, according to investigators.

Higashiyama was conscious when an employee who was staying upstairs rushed to the first floor restaurant following the incident, but he did not tell the employee who attacked him.

Moreover, 600,000 yen in the restaurant's takings remained in a safe in Higashiyama's second-floor room, and his wallet and his cash cards were not stolen.
