Whores? Have you ever been to Philippino pubs, Mr. Mulboyne? Hostesses and whores are definitely different.

Some Japanese people say Filipinos are stealing job opportunities in Japan.
They can do that if they're superior. Nothing's wrong with that.

First, that is a quote from the cited location, "Shukan Post", that Mulboyne is setting forth and not his opinion. Secondly, I wouldn't call him out on experience. He's probably got more time standing in pubs than you do standing in the loo...

Grnbrd, I guess you can't be faulted since you're new here and don't know anyone, but this was pretty funny.

Shhhhhh. Don't let out the secret that Mulboyne prefers Philippino pubs to Filipina clubs.

Noriko is a whore.
Foreign caregivers are Filipino.
Therefore, Noriko is Filipino?

You know, I think it's time to repost Norico's picture and maybe track her down to ask her side of the √iolent AJ's fiasco.
No doubt this would be very interesting, and not all the story that we understand as reading √iolent AJ's opinion. Now where was that tentative/ presumed picture of Noriko?

You are, Nottu, a foreigner.
I mean, Nottu, that you are a foreigner.
Or rather, a foreigner, you are, Nottu.

Oh, never mind.

Certainly, I've extrapolated the message of the Shukan Post article with my choice of words but I don't think there is any doubt that the magazine isn't writing to commend these women. I'm sure that some former hostesses will be among those hoping to qualify as nurses but, if the translation is accurate, how does the Shukan Post come up with the figure that 200,000 Filipinas married to Japanese are former hostesses? The annual number of marriages between Japanese men and Filipinas has only recently popped above 7,000 and there's a divorce rate of 40% so it sounds a little like the magazine is saying that virtually every Filipina with a spouse visa in Japan is a former hostess.

Maybe the writer had that impression from all the hostess bars he used to hang out at.
His [Brendan Behan's] last words were to several nuns standing over his bed, "God bless you, may your sons all be bishops."

Hey, that's the Shukan Post we're talking about! They don't need to back up any data, if the figure sounds good as it is, print it. If it is not good, add another 200,000 and print it!

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Filipina nursing training applicants being put off by cost of Japanese training
Mainichi - September 19, 2009
MANILA --
The number of Filipina applicants for nursing care training in Japan this year has fallen below the number of positions available, due to the heavy financial burden of living here.
Despite receiving 104 applications for the 50 spaces available in the training program, just 30 have decided to come to Japan, according to a Filipino official.
"Due to the great expense involved, many of them have retracted their applications," said the official
