I was watching the news this am and one of the big stories was the banquet type dinner they had at the G8 meeting while discussing the world food shortage. But nobody is taking into account the fact that this is Japan and you must wow your guests with lavish dishes. I think that is an importanat factor in this story. No!

I think this is really being overblown. Why isn't anybody talking about how much of a carbon footprint this summit is making. Or how much money is being wasted for security and the like. It is just easy to look at the menu and latch onto that. And again, I think a lot of it has to do with it being in Japan. What did they expect, a JR Ekibento.
Do you think Italy will serve anything less next year? I doubt it.
