[/floatr]This Friday Afternoon, several tons of wet concrete, being used to build a new annex for the Shibaura Institute of Technology, fell from the eighth storey of the construction onto the nearby pavement. It struck a passer-by who was, for a short time, buried in the concrete. He was pulled free by five workers but has sustained serious injuries and is in hospital. Workers were pouring the concrete between the outer wall and a steel frame when the frame slipped and the concrete gushed outside. An eyewitness said that it felt like an earthquake.
