Why do gaijins hate the sound of cicadas?

At work today, had one dumbass semi who couldn't deal with the concept of a window. I can't completely fault the little critter, though, I mean the windows are tinted, and I'm assuming some degree of common sense in them. Flying straight, bounce into something, continue to try to fly straight, bouce off again. Try to go up a meter or so...no, that's no good either, go back to start and try a meter in any other direction. I decided to name him "Shacho".

a few months back there were a ton of semi in this part of mexico.. i forgot how loud they can be (actually i dont know if it was the variety or the sheer number of them, but they seemed louder than in japan.. actually migraine inducing). one night a coworker left his window open and the next morning he had 50 or so cicadas screaming in his office. so for the entire day everybody in the building was going crazy from the sound, while i just sat back thinking natsukashii.
