Necessary to contact NHK when moving?

Postby Oh!Saka! » Fri Aug 15, 2008 7:59 am

Hello folks.

I'm moving to lovely Amemura next week and would like to know if its necessary to contact NHK to let them know I am moving.

I did a search on this and could not find any relevant information (at least on the first page of results :D )

Why? Let 'em find you. It's not like anybody wants to pay NHK.

[But the rules say...
You must also report any change of address to the electric, gas, water, and telephone companies, the post office, your financial institution, the NHK office, and department of motor vehicles.

I just realized that I have it so NHK automatically debits my bank account so in this situation, I guess I have no choice but to let them know I am moving?

Is this a troll post?

Anyways -- yes, tell NHK you are leaving the country and you can terminate your agreement.

When you move to your new place in Japan, simply do not re-contract and use the Y40,000/year you save to buy yourself something useful:

What the hell are you paying NHK for!? :shake:
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

To get rid of that annoying "please pay NHK" watermark at the bottom left corner of the screen.
