It's probably for the branding...I am still talking with a manufacture about releasing their brand in Japan as they are making tons of money on their wool socks and other special blends...try a pair on and you'll see why. I still have a few pairs of cotton socks left but they are slowly being worked out. I originally bought them just for hockey but they make everyday walking and whatnot soooo much more comfortable.

They cost an arm and a leg but I've been using the same first few that I bought for the past 2 years an there are still no holes or wear.
