This one is going to rip the oil and gas refining infrastructure.
Expect $5.00 per gallon gasoline very shortly.

Looting

Postby Greji » Mon Oct 03, 2005 8:50 pm

I checked with some of the fellows back home about problems with looting after the hurricane. They said they didn't have any particular problems.

What in the hell is going on with Florida? This is like the 7th or 8th hurricane to hit in the last two years! I will be under a hurricane warning again! I am so glad I will be back in Japan in less than two months. I hope this will be my last one here.

Any of you in Florida now?

Florida probably will get a much weakened storm. How about the poor people stuck in Cozumel/Cancun right now with a solid hit at category 4 or 5.

It's all Jeb's and his oil buddies in Texas's fault.

GW is a Jonah. Americans should impeach him so God is no longer angry with them.

Wind is starting to pick up here. Weather is still quite nice. Power still working for most of the time. Flooding and heavy wind damage expected in my area. Hurricane Katrina passed over me as a cat 1, Wilma is a cat 3 and expected to hit as such. I may be without power for a week again. I am alone in a area that is not in the main city. I sort of wish I had some company in this large home. I hope it hold up well as I was unable to protect any of the windows and am in a safe room. I will keep you all updated.

I am alive though there was a good deal of damage. One of my fathers classic cars, a 60's or 70's BMW was crushed by a wall. There is no power at all in the city. I have no running water and cell phones are not working 100% though I was able to make few calls. Nobody is allowed to be out past 8:00pm. There is some small looting. Things are not bad. Food is a tad hard to come by though I do have enough.

I spent this one alone and all I can say is I did not think it would be this bad. I had no fear, but when the winds hit at 120MPH and I could hear things hitting my house and car as well as the wall falling... shit I was scared to be alone! Either way, all seems to be OK. I'm on my laptop with on it's battery. The phone line still works, so dial-up is an option for now. I will update you all with a full story as soon as I can find power. Thanks for your wishing me luck.

Since McSame's campaign is trying to distance themselves from Bush-Cheney, I am sure that they are quite happy that Bush-Cheney have an excuse not to attend the GOP convention.

Personally I think that Bush-Cheney should both be tied to some low-lying boulders in the gulf coastline, just before the storm surge hits. This way, they can prove firsthand that water-boarding is safe, acceptable, and humane. Note that in order to prevent any cruelty while water-boarding, I suggested boulders to protect them from the wind, since they are heavy and won't blow away.

As I said on another thread, I just might have to start believing in a god if this hurricane veers towards Commander Guy's Library and washes away it's only book "My Pet Goat".
Spare a drink?
