Don Quijote has started selling life-sized cardboard cut-outs of idol Akina Minami for 7,980 yen apiece. The store in Akihabara claims to have sold three times as many as any other branch. One employee there says that customers often mistake the item for an in-store promotion sign and ask if they can have it. When told they can buy it on the spot, they have been happy to part with their cash. If you want a life-sized cut-out of someone-one else, then Ogata Print will do a one-off for around 20,000 yen.
