[/floatr]Hiromu Nonaka, former LDP secretary general, has suggested at a conference in Kobe that Japan, China, Russia, Korea and North Korea consider forming an economic partnership in the manner of the European Union. Back in 1998, Nonaka was the first LDP executive to visit a memorial in China to the 1937 Nanjing Massacre so he has been keen to promote better relations in the region. If only he could come up with a name for his plan. Perhaps something which captures the idea of the most eastwards nations in the Asia region prospering together?
