Asahi: Okuyama designs deluxe sports car
Industrial designer Kiyoyuki "Ken" Okuyama, who created cars for Italian makers such as Ferrari and Maserati, is to release the ultralight K.O 7 Spider special-edition sports car on Nov. 1. Only 99 units of the K.O 7 will be put on sale by Ken Okuyama Design, based in Yamagata. The sleek two-seater's body is made of aerospace dry carbon and stamped aluminum, mostly left unpainted. Its doors open upward, and the entire car weighs in at only 750 kilograms. The 4-cylinder, 2-liter displacement engine is produced in Japan. The car is priced at 20.475 million yen, tax included.

The front and back shots make that car look really bad ass, from the side, not so cool looking

The really weird thing is that it seems like it's really misguided in terms of the target market.

Generally people either want really spartan sports cars (the kind that don't have windshields or all of their body panels, much less AC or power steering, ala the Ariel Atom), or really plush supercars (ala... every Italian supercar)... this car is a spartan sports car with chrome and leather trim, yet it almost certainly doesn't have AC, power-steering, or a roof to keep the rain out and protect the interior.
