Japanese babies sleep for only 11 hours and 37 minutes a day on average, the shortest time among babies in 16 countries and territories, a study said. In comparison, babies in New Zealand sleep the longest -- 13 hours and 18 minutes, it claimed. A group of doctors from various countries compiled the study through an Internet survey which covered babies aged up to three years...Japanese pediatrician Jun Koyama, Head of Tokyo-Kita Social Insurance Hospital, who participated in the group-study, unveiled some of the date at a seminar of the Japanese Society of Child Health. The study showed Japanese babies go to sleep at 9:18 pm and wake up at 7:08 a.m. on average, seizing a medium position among babies in the 16 countries and territories.
