HELP! I need news from Nagoya!

Postby pompoko » Thu Oct 16, 2008 11:08 am

Hi there. It's been a year since I left Japan, but I have a friend there who has totally cut off contact with people in the US after a series of traumatic events. Prior to this she has been in regular contact with us, but now, nothing. I need to know if anyone in or around Nagoya has heard anything about a female american english teacher being killed/committed suicide/been in an accident ANYTHING within in the last 48 hours. She lived outside of Nagoya, but worked within the city. I don't know the name of her town. We communicated through email/facebook/livejournal, etc. If you hear anything in the upcoming weeks, provided that she doesn't just pop up and tell me how much of an idiot I am for being so concerned (in which case I'll delete this post), please, please let me know. I know this is very extreme post, but it's an extreme situation and her US friends are very worried.

Thank you so much in advance. I appreciate anything you can offer.

Also, if you're an idiot who is going to mess with me and tell me lies related to this, so help me god I will hunt you down like a dog and commit unspeakable acts to your raw, bleeding flesh. Thanks.

Edit: Sorry for being so vague. She's no longer MIA, so don't worry about it. Have a laugh at my expense.
such a n00b.

Don't suppose you could check her Facebook page or old emails to give us a few more clues, like the name of the burgh she lives in...

Sorry to here that you are worried about your friend. I hope you are able to locate her soon.
I'm not trying to be a smart arse or anything, but it might help if you were a little more specific - that way people on these boards could ask around through their private networks, not just on FG.

She was an English teacher, right? Did she work in a high school? A private ekaiwa (if she did, it should be pretty easy to find her)? A university? Did she run her own school?

Roughly how old is she? 20's? 30's? 40's?

Had she been living in Japan long? Had she always lived in Nagoya? Or did she move from another part of the country recently?

Can she speak Japanese? Did she attend school here?

These kind of details might make your search for your friend a little more effective.

In any case, good luck. I hope she is ok. If you have real cause for concern, why dont you contact the US consulate in Nagoya (assuming she is American)?

I love it when you talk dirty to me!

You going to have to give us more to go on i.e. locations, age, does she know Noriko, etc.

FOUND HER!

Postby pompoko » Thu Oct 16, 2008 10:40 pm

Thanks to the people who replied. She resurfaced in one piece. I owe you all a beer.

I didn't have more specific information, unfortunately. She's a somewhat transient person who fails to keep us updated beyond the fact that "she's in nagoya".

Glad she's still intact, now getting back to your mutilation fantasies....how old were you when you got your first BB gun from dad who was on his third bottle of Night Train at the time?
I was 6, and it was Thunderbird. Please, share.

Why Gomi, I'm surprised at you! Iraira and I are right here on the board! What more could your dear heart be missing?

That's great pompoko. But don't forget the terms of the Court order - you're not to call her or send emails more than once a day, and you're not to approach within 500 metres of the poor girl.
