FGs as victims of crime.. for the record

Postby blackcat » Sat Oct 25, 2008 10:00 am

When I first arrived in Japan I was under the impression from the J media that foreigners seemed responsible for a large percentage of the crime here.

I am sure as most know of this forum that the J media tends to blow out of proportion the crimes that Fgs commit in Nippon. I have had this thrown in my face by locals once in a while and just listening to the stereotyping of Chinese and Koreans as inherent criminals was sickening.

I noticed that there were indeed Fgs that had crimes commit against them here but it went mostly unnoticed with the Lucy Blackman Lindsay Hawker cases the exception.

I even started to wonder if in fact there were as many (or even more?) FG victims of crime than perpetrators.

If you take Human trafficking into the picture then its a no brainer!

So not as a "japan bashing" thread as anything remotely critical of japan tends to be labeled, I thought it might be interesting to have a thread of any ones experience or knowledge of this topic.

I can't control what people post (trolls etc.) but I suggest if you have any facts provide a link, of if you wish tell of first hand experiences or what you have heard as a rumor.

I have noticed a disturbing number of cases I am sure we Fgs have never heard of in the J media. Keep the bastards honest I say.

I will simply mention the sad cases of Lucy Blackman and Lindsay Hawker as we all know they are fact.

here are some others

Perhaps you can add the thousands of Korean and Chinese murdered by the Japanese and buried along the banks of the Sumida river, wherer Japanese like to watch fireworks but most do not know nor care that their are thousands of human bones buried under their feet.

http://dl.lib.brown.edu/kanto/denewa.html
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In what came to be known as the Korean Massacre, 6,000 Koreans living in Japan and several hundred Chinese and Japanese mistaken for Koreans, were indiscriminately murdered by the Japanese. The massacres were due at least in part to false rumors that the Koreans were planning an uprising. False rumors that the Koreans were: setting fires, poisoning wells, raping and looting, and mobilizing an army first emerged in the Yokohama and Kawasaki areas.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the thousands of others used as slaves and buried alive in Sumitomo coal mines. I also believe Prime minster Aso's family company used and abused Chinese and Korean POW's.

I think this is a really good thread to have. If it could be statistically shown that FGs were more often victims than perpetrators of crime then the media should be forced to treat how they cover crime involving foreigners differently.

Basically generally traditionally gaijin is enemy for Japanese.
Even among same Japanese, foreign substance is removed sooner or later.
Now Japanese society is losing its economic and mental room.
Scapegoat is sincerely needed.
Present ones are Zainichi Korean, Korean, Chinese, Latin American, Buraku people.
Next is YOU.

Here is a personal true story I know...

A friend of a friend of mine (an FG) was attacked and badly beaten by a Chrysanthemum. From what I have heard a criminal case has begun but I have not been able to find anything at all about it in the news or on the internet.

Woke up this morning with three cops on my doorstep.
"Oh shit, here we go again" I thought as I stumbled into my jeans and opened the door. They had come to see if my daughter and I were indeed the owners of two bicycles that had been dumped in the stream near our house. Indeed we were. But we didnt put them there.
"Hmmm, who could it have been then?" they asked.
"Fucked if I know" I replied. "My guess it was punk arse kids or drunk fucks in the middle of the night" I supposed, admitting however that I was no Sherlock Holmes.
"Well...Ki o tsukete!" was their advice, and off they trundled.
I didnt really expect them to do anything about it, and I was grateful that they had saved me the trouble of searching for the bikes myself. They were pleasant and polite to boot. But I swear, in future, if I ever see anyone lurking around my driveway in the night, its gunna get emotional. So help me God.:mad2:

Keystone cops. Even an idiot could guess that the people who stole them dumped them there.

I usually dumped mine when I found a better one to ride or sobered up a bit and realized the police down the road were checking bikes.

Sorry to hear about your chari's Kusai.
