Digital Homicide Lands Woman in Analog Jail

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Fri Oct 24, 2008 8:30 pm

The continuing adventures of Japan's Keystone Cops

A 43-year-old Japanese woman whose sudden divorce in a virtual game world made her so angry that she killed her online husband's digital persona has been arrested on suspicion of hacking, police said Thursday.

...

The woman used login information she got from the 33-year-old office worker when their characters were happily married, and killed the character. The man complained to police when he discovered that his beloved online avatar was dead.

Heard this on the radio here in Cali this morning. What's the world coming too when you can't even kill your OL lover?
Spare a drink?

To me this guy is almost as bad as the person who called the cops because someone was charging his cell phone with a train station outlet and therefore stealing electricity.

Seriously, why would the cops arrest her for logging into this guy's account using a password that he gave her? They ought to arrest that loser for waisting their fucking time.
