Postby mercutio » Sun Jun 22, 2003 4:03 pm

Ssup folks,

Well Im moving to Tokyo...

I start with a finance company in Ginza in a couple of weeks

So...I was wondering if you have any good recommendations for a moving company to get my stuff from Okazaki to Tokyo or if anyone knows of any truck rental places, the company is paying for it but not giving much in the way if guidance.

Yikes, are you're working for a sarakin "finance company"? Well, they can afford to go with a mainline, full-service, moving company like "0123". They are in the top 5 and provide English services.
http://www.the0123.com/english/

For comparison, the last time I priced a weekend rental of a Toyota Rental Company for their largest stepvan, it was 30,000yen PLUS mileage PLUS gas. Two-guys-and-truck beniya moved all my crap from a packed 2ldk from north Tokyo to Yokohama for 50,000yen. 0123 Company gave me an estimate of 90,000 yen for "self-pack" and 123,000 yen for full service/fully insured....that's not a bad deal really.

mmmm bright lights... fast wimmin...

Damnit! I always forget to log in first!

So anyway... Sorry steve but Ive gotta roll up to tokyo for a while. Itll be a nice change but I will definately miss Nagoya... Okazaki, not so much

Thanks Taro for the info. Im still trying to figure out what to do with my stuff. Realistically I could get rid of a few things and just ship 2 or 3 boxes and Id be done. So It just seems silly to use a moving company. Ive been living like a student for the past nine months and came here with a few suitcases so more than likely Ill want to replace most of the cheap things Ive bought here. Itll just be a pain in the ass getting my mountain bike up there if I dont use a moving company or rent a van.

If if it just a few boxes and a bike why not use Takkyubin? If it is a heap of stuff, I have a few friends at Allied Pickfords who can help.

Hey, Brad!! When are you going to send me the photos???
