Who wants to bet that if I got completely hammered on champagne at a strip club in Roppongi and eventually had to pay an 800,000 yen bill that there's NO WAY IN HELL the court would rule in my favour... and even if they DID, I'd probably have a run in with a very tattooed person.

...oh this actually happened to a friend of mine, who quickly cancelled his american express card after kicking two strippers out of his hotel in the morning.

[I'm fairly certain that the host club bill would have been considerably more than 200,000 yen if there were eleven bottles of champagne on the tab. Presumably, the club operator reasoned that it might not look good for them in the court to show how much they really intended to charge because it would be bad publicity for their business and might also have caused the judge to wonder why they didn't check her ability to pay a substantially larger sum.

I bow down to your expertise on the subject, being a person who as probably never dropped more than ichi-man at a bar on any given night.
