I wonder if Vanuatu would extradite him?

It seems to be a moot point. FTA:

"Federal authorities arrested Neel at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday as he exited a flight from Sydney, Australia. Authorities said he was forced off the island because his passport had expired."

I think it was posted on FG a few years back that the US State Dept won't renew your passport if you're in child support arrears. You'd think this moron would've obtained Vanautuvian permanent residence by now, or least procured some third-country passport (this is not to be construed as endorsing fleeing child support obligations).

Bit of useless information... about 10 years ago I went to a wedding on that island with a group of good friends from Brisbane. It went up on sale not long after. I hope to think it wasn't due to us although we did get a guy fired after we invited him to share our post wedding party and he got drunk and was unable to perform his duties as the ferry operator - he was found sleeping under a palm tree cuddling an unopened bottle of red wine but that is another story...

Anyhoo, after it went on sale, we all got together and *thought* about buying the place as it was pretty cheap - $800,000 or something. But of course it fell through but one of the main advocates for the plan went off and built his on place on Vanuatu. Gorgeous part of the world.

At $800,000 it is too cheap and will become a good dive spot after global warming/sea level rise.

Unless you"re paying $10,000 a month for two kids. His ex-wife must have found one helluva divorce lawyer.

If convicted, I wonder if he'll be able to make his child support payments from banging out license plates in the pen?
