[quote="kurohinge1"]Ditto. Although I'm a little more cynical as to why the local press has ignored the story (and that's where any concern about propaganda should be focused).

But, then again, maybe they were just worried that the story header might be confused with the low-birth-rate issue: "Japanese Saved by Foreign Seamen" ]

Well, I'm glad someone is taking the time to appreciate our work here. Its a big thing to help out Japanese Nationals because we are trained NOT to, it is because there is no Good Samaritan Law in japan and the Navy doesn't want to see us going to court or jail for helping someone out. It's fucked up, yes, but that's life for you. I Know Both Caballero and Brice (Brice is my LPO) they are good people and would not make stuff up.
Next Yokoska Chuo Station, there is an ally, in the ally there is a bar called Rock Bar Fuck Yeah!. Talk to Taka and tell him Utley sent you. ask for the Highway to Hell. You have not lived till you try one.

(And YES, I know i spelled it wrong! And YES, I was DRUNK when i spelled it)

That liability law is pretty much how it is in the US too. You can get sued for trying to give first-aid to strangers now-a-days. I guess Japan is catching up just like they are with sexual harassment laws.
