NARITA — Japan Football Association (JFA) president Saburo Kawabuchi has come to the defense of Japan coach Zico, under fire after the national team's first-round exit at the ongoing Confederations Cup in France.
"A lot of negative comments have been made about Zico since the team were knocked out but I remain confident in him," Kawabuchi told reporters at Narita airport after returning from France on Friday. (Kyodo News)
The players don't like him, the assistant coaches don't trust him and the media thinks he's crap BUT the JFA President remains confident. Looks like his days are numbered.
